Default Alternator question

My bro`s 92 SI has blown 3 alternators in the past 2 months. Somethings wrong...I was thinking about putting in an alternator from a 2000 civic. Would that work?

Also, what would cause an alternator to blow so fast? Is it just that they`re bad to begin with or is it something else? His grounds are good and not blowing any fuses.

Thanks for any help!

Default Re: Alternator question (DeadEnd9009)

Where are you getting the alternators? Are you sure there the stock amperage?

Check all of your grounds and the power line going to the alternator. If you have blown 3, you got other issue besides the alternator.

Any 92-00 D series should work
