I need to adjust the timing on my 1991 Prelude Si.. How can I do this?
I have a 1991 Prelude Si with a new (60k miles) B20A5 motor. I recently had to put it through timing belt service and take the cylinder head off to replace some valves that got bent when my belt blew. Ever since then my car has been running real rich, blowing alot of black smoke out and using up way more gas than it should (about 12mpg right now.) I've given the car a tune-up myself and replaced a bunch of stuff, but none of this has helped.. I've tried adjusting the timing by turning the distributor, and this hasn't done much good either.. Is there anything I can do short of taking the car into the shop? Any helpful information is very much appreciated

that actually sounds like fouled out plugs. and twisting the dizzy is the only way to do that on a ba4 prelude.
might i suggest http://www.preludepower.com tehy are mostly 3rd genners like yourself and I.

I changed the plugs about a week or two ago, and nothing really happened.. The car also idles really rough, and will sometimes just cut off.
