ok i installed my new exedy clutch stage 1 along with a lighten flywheel..installation went fine..started up the car..started up fine..i let it idle for alittle..now tried to shift into gears it would not..it would go into gear but very hard to shift into gear..what could it possibly be, did i install the clutch wrong.? if i did would the car even start up?...slave cylinder?..MC?..i bleed the clutch line..but no diffrent maybe just very little diffrence..unless i did the bleeding part wrong..HELP
BLEED THE CLUTCH. THE WAY I DO IT IS I HAVE SOMEONE HOLD THE CLUTCH PEDAL WITH THEIR HAND AND HAVE THEM PUMP IT TEN TIME AND THE I OPEN THE BLEEDER AND THEN CLOSE THE BLEEDER. I DO THIS 3-4 TIMES AND IF THIS DOSEN'T HELP YOU MAY NOT ALIGNED THE CLUTCH DISK RIGHT. MAY NOT BE CENTERED RIGHT THAT MAY DO IT ALSO.USALLY THE DISK CAN ONLY GO ONE WAY. DUE TO THE BIG LIP WERE THE SPRINGS ARE.
well see if he instal the disk back ward he wouldnt be able to tighten the pressure plate down and if he misalign the disk then there's no way he could of got his tranny back in. because if you think about it, the disk have to be perfectly align. if the disk hole isnt align with the flywheel hole then when he put his tranny back in the shaft of the tranny would hit the flywheel...
did you remove your shift linkage when you remove the tranny? if you did you might want to check to make sure the shift linkage is instal right and all the bolts are tighten down.
How does your clutch pedal feel? Firm, not squishey? The pedal comes back all the way after depressing it? I had a similar issue when installing my clutch. It turned out that having the slave cylinder disconnected from the tranny (leaving the hydrolic lines intact) some how allowed air into the system. Bleeding the lines solved my problem.
