VTEC crossover change in GSR help!
I've done a search and still couldn't find an answer. My setup is a internally stock GSR B18C1 with intake, Skunk 2 manifold, 4-1 header, and exhaust. Right now I'm running a chipped JDM P72 with a P30 base map scaled to a 1.8 liter.
The VTEC is set at 5800 (I'm assuming that's for the Si VTEC motor) and I was wondering if I should change it to a GSR's engagement point (4400).
My main concern is that the fuel and ignition tables are tuned for VTEC to kick in at 5800 and if I set it that low and I'll lose power, am I right?
Thanks fellas!

i would not put it at 4400 with the skunk2 manifold...You would need to play around with it to find the optimal engagement point...set vtec at 8k..drive...see where your primary lobes run out of breath...set vtec about 500 rpm before that...But if you wanna blind guess...Id say 5200 would be a good spot on that setup

agreed...my choice of vtec x over is anywhere from 5000-5400 rpm. One reason why I like my vtec set around the 5300 range is when you shift, your rpm's don't drop below vtec.
