will an alpine cda-9807 control an ipod?
just wondering. i'm pretty sure this feature came out after my deck was released, but was wondering if anybody knows if it will work anyway with the adapter cable? has anyone tried? i don't wanna buy the cable and the ipod, only to find out i need a new headunit too. THANKS!!
it's an older piece so it's definitely not the fullspeed technology. so if you look up the kca-420i, it appears to work for 2004+ models. but let me add, it's not that great. i have this with the d310 flipout and all it has is playlist, album listing and artist listing. can't jump around quickly. hard to go back into the list of songs (without starting from the top) once you have selected one. maybe better to get the adapter cable and run the ipod independently using this adapter,
that's what i was thinking, just use ipod's interface. it will be quicker/easier. i won't be able to charge the ipod simulatneously, but oh well.
have you used the fullspeed technology? how well does that work, excluding that stupid glidetouch feature?

The KCA-410i will not work on the CDA-9807, however You can use the KCA-410C or the KCA 121B and use the HU AUX mode, [V Link] and give yourself 1, [KCA-121B] or 2, [KCA-410C] aux inputs, to the HU.

BTW except for the DVA-9965, the "Glide Touch" is no more, Alpine thought they had a good idea, but found out fast it wasn't, so they dropped it.

I have a 2006 deck hooked up with an ipod via fullspeed and it works fine. I still dont know how to use it to it's potential but only enough to get to the playlists and songs.
