1994 Accord EX
Hello,
I am new to this forum, plan to get a 1994 Honda Accord EX. It already has 150,000 miles on it. From a little searching around, people tend to do the whole Prelude swap (correct me if I am wrong). If thats the case I am leaning toward that myself.
I wanted to ask those whom personally done it.
Does the H22 drops right into the Accord with no adjustments to the motor mounts? Did you needed to mod anything?
Where would be the best place to get a complete kit in the USA (everything I need for a swap).
There are different types of H22 right? What's the diffenece in engine code?
Thanks

First, welcome to Honda-Tech
Second, the questions you just asked have been discussed many times before. There is a search feature, I suggest you use that to help find the answers. Some people tend to get upset when people ask common questions without searching first.
Also, there is an "Accord FAQ" and "Guide to basic Accords" that are stickied at the top of the Accord forum. I would suggest you read through those as well because there are links that will help answer your questions.

I understand that there is a search feature but just like other forums the search feature is not good. SO many varibles as if my wording is not correct, I spend years piecing parts here and there together.
Call me ignorant as you may, but I just want a set of answers that was structured to my post. I am also a member at ScionLife and yes... people do flame you for asking the same stuff over and over and I can understand that. I also feel that the time they spent flaming the person why not just help them and direct them to a link to their question.
It all comes down to helping, thats why I join forums.

I agree. Thats why I spent the time putting a majority of the FAQ together, to help put useful info (such as things you asked) into one thread where it can be easily found without using the search feature. Granted, the FAQ was posted by -RedneckDave- but that was to keep the FAQ just one single post instead of 6+ pages of links that you would need to search through (meaning he's a mod and can lock the thread to prevent this, thats why he posted it instead of me).
I understand that you wanted specific answers oriented to your post, but what if every time someone wanted to know a few specific things but didn't feel like searching for each individual one because it may take some time, so the just post it. That would give the forum a bunch of repeat threads which is one of the things we (the Accord forum) are trying to get rid of.
I don't mean to sound rude, but you gotta understand that no one here wants to type in the same responces day in and day out, week after week. Which is what would happen if no one used the search feature.
I agree in reguards to the flaming. Which is why I pointed you towards the FAQ and that.
The search feature isn't that bad. Yes you need to search multiple times with in the archives and recent topics using different variations and such but everyone goes through it, it's not just you. Besides, part of what makes the search feature harder is the thread title users choose to use. If they don't accurately describe what is within the thread it makes it that much harder for that thread to be searched for. Kinda like this thread, just from looking at the thread title whos to know the contents of this thread is in reguards to engine swaps?

I am getting mix results here... the car I plan to get is a 1994 Accord Ex. Is this a 4th GEN or a 5th GEN?
You mentioned 94-97 as 5th GEN
While this site here states it as 4th:
http://www.sportcompactcarweb...._swap/
And I quote:
"The mods to the wiring are substantial enough that finding a VTEC Accord is not going to make things much easier. Suitable model years are '90 to '97 (see sidebar). From '94 to '95, OBD I ruled both the Accord and Prelude. They both changed to OBD II in '96. Substantial changes in electronics accompanied the changeover, including the ECU design and wiring. What does this mean for us? If you have a '94-to-'95 Accord (4G), find a '94 to '95 Prelude for a donor. Likewise, a '96-to-'97(5G) Accord should get a '96-to-'97 Prelude engine and ECU."

90-93 Accord is a 4th Gen.
94-97 Accord is a 5th Gen.
Within the 5th Gen the 94-95 were ODBI and the 96-97 were ODBII.
also, use the search, probably would have found the answer within 10-15 min instead of waiting more than 24 hours for a responce
