Default 1992 prelude si 4ws of death?

Hey just got a 1992 2.3L prelude si with the 4ws h23a1 motor automatic trans... symptoms are as follows...

1)engine oil leak around the distributor.

2) 4ws light seems to come on mostly during hot days but recently turned on while driving at night for the first but the car was on for a while idling so maybe it was do to the engine being hot. The ignition trick works though to turn off the 4ws light on hot days but not sure how good it is for the starter = rev engine turn off then turn on ignition one motion. called and they told me rear wheel sensor was done 1993

3)ABS light comes on after moving the car a little and stays on. do after market wheels have anything to do with this problem or 4ws?

4)winshield wiper fuse blows when i go past the first setting most of the time.

5)rear knocking sound when i turn corners.

6)speedometer sometimes shoots down to 0 mph when driving then comes back up.

7) on really hot days it won't start right away the starter turns but no kick. possible main relay?

well that's i think enough for me besides these problems the car runs and looks great.. what would be a good price to pay for this car in 2006? and what would be more cost efficient as an engine upgrade? lol if someone helps me with these problems you deserve a cookie

1. a $1.67 o-ring from teh dealer will fix that.

2. nothing i can help with

3. check the ABS code, it should have nothign to do with the 4ws or rims, its going to be a bad sensor in the ABS systm most likely.

4. sounds like you need a new combination switch most likely.

5. id start by checking for slop in the rear suspension, check all bolts and bushings as well.

6. could be a bad vss or bad speedo, vss if yo uare getting a check engine light for it.

7. sounds like main relay

geez man, that sucks. i hope it doesnt turn out to be a lemon for you. thats the same car i have except for a manual trans and i LOVE it. to answer your number 2, crack open your 4ws unit and resolder the relays. that fixed the problem for me. do a search for 4ws fix, you should be able to find the how-to. good luck!

yeah man, just pop out a service manual (plenty available online somewhere) and chekc those 4ws codes and abs codes to figure out excatly what the problem is a resolder the connections. also, I had an oil leak by the distrubuter and thought it wa sthe o-ring and it was the valve cover gasket. leave the car running and check to see where it's coming from..

are you using the right size fuse for the wipers?
