Honda tape/cd player
I have my stock cd player in my accord, and I have a 94 honda tape player laying around...is it possible to hook the tape player up to my cd player? I know it sounds wierd, but i don't wanna put anything aftermarket into my car b/c of my area.
is your cd player a single din cd player, or is it the combo setup where the cd player part is its own unit and must be controlled by the factory headunit (cassete player)
if its like that as long as the 94 tape player has the appropriate din plug on the back it should work just fine...

it's a single DIN cd player, must be controlled by it's unit, the tape player is the same thing, it was pulled from a 1994 honda accord. Is it possible to run two stock Tape and cd players at one time?

What are you wanting to do? Have the capability to listen to both CDs and cassette tapes, while keeping it stock?
Tape players from the sixth generation have a CD controller on them. What I did in my '99 LX was to put an Alpine CD changer in my trunk which I controll through the Honda OEM tape player (a little trivia, but Alpine makes Honda radios). Cost for the tape player would be $30 or $40 (ebay), and probably $250 for the changer.
Another option would be to try to figure out if there is a way to hook an ipod up to the back of any of the OEM tape players (don't use an FM modulator). If you can, run it so that the connection to the iPod is in your glovebox with no external wires.
The advantage to having a tape deck in your car is that nobody will mess with trying to steal it (they don't know that it's hooked up to a CD changer in the trunk - of course, don't have any CDs laying around the cabin of the car).

I believe that BOSE makes the radio's and Alpine makes the CD changers.......

check to see if there is a white plug on the back of your Tape player or CD, this is a port for a wire to go to and from the head units or to a CD changer, so you could add on the CD player if the cassete can accomodate

I am assuming you have a 97 Accord, is that correct?
I am also assuming you have the Honda AM/FM/CD in the dash, [with a pocket under it] is that correct?
I am not sure what you mean by "94 Honda tape player" is it an AM/FM/cass or just a cass. player, [slave unit]?
Feel free to IM me for faster response

Heyy sorry took awhile to respond. Yes I have a 97 Accord, and yes with the pocket under it. And yes I have the tape player pulled from a 94 accord with AM/FM/Cass. I was wondering if i would use both at the same time!?
?
?
Yes you can, it will require a "switcher", you can build one with 2 4PDT and 1 SPDT relays, it will automatically switch speakers and power between the two HUs by turning one of them on or off.

Unfortunately not any more, that I know of.
They still make switchers, but only for the pre-amp stage.
I have had to make my own for the last 5-10 years.
