Default Wet system on a stock h22

Is there a recommended setting for the timing? Not doing anything serious, I've just never driven a car with the gas on it so I figure I'll put a baby shot on it and see what the buzz is about....just want to make sure I got it right.

Should I retard the timing slightly? If so, how....the motor is all stock. Except for some aftermarket valves, springs, and retainers.

well to retard the timing, you jump the service connector, start the car, let it warm to NOT and idle. loosen the dizzy and turn it away from the firewall. About 1/16-1/8'' is about 5degrees? Roughly of course.
