If by "stock" you mean intake, header, exhaust, weight reduction and tuning, yeah

I've got an EK hatch, SI motor with bolt on's, fastest I've mustered on my first time in the 1/4 is 15.8. I'm thinking maybe 15.4 if I get rid of the all season radials, put on some real tires and learn to drive. Doubt the slightly heavier completely stock SI could pull mid 15's. Still not bad considering it's a torqueless little 1.6L motor though.

Yeah, Si's weigh over 2600 lbs. Thats a heavy *** Civic. Plus the B16 sucks stock. So I really don't see it going anywhere under 15.6 or 15.7.

Buy a 98-01 trans am/WS6.

You'll be much more impressed with it's stock time, only about 3.5 seconds faster. plus, 0-60 is about 3 seconds faster too.

WS6's aren't that cheap though are they? (I really don't know, not being sarcastic)

mine had 60k miles on it and I paid 9.5k for it. Super nice car. It's about as fast as most stock cars get for the price. Next closest things are porches, bmw's. I love the handling, plus it's nearly gotten me in trouble a few times. Once when I was seeing how fast it would go, i was cruising about 158 down an old straight country road. Right passed a cop who couldn't get moving fast enough for me to be 1 miles away and around 3 turns 2 subdivisions down and into a friends garage who thank god lived there. He so saved my ***.

You can get one with about 100k on it for 6.5-7.5 in good condition. THey last forever. The good ones. 98-02.

They made the LS1 F-bodies 98-02.

But yeah, for about the same price as an Si, you could an F-body (Camaro, Firebird, Trans Am) that has 150 more HP, and 230 more Ft. lbs of torque. Plus, they get decent gas mileage for a 5.7 liter. I think its around 27 MPG. The Si only gets about 30 with the air off and driving like a grandma.
