Default b16 seems to shut off @3000rpm

Hi,
I have a ef with a b16 swaped in.it runs pretty good but somtimes when I'm driving after a cold start,I'll be accelerating and it seems to hesitate a little and acts like the injectors shut off at 3000rms.The car will continue like it's going to die until the rms drop about 500 rpm, then it picks up again until 3000rpm and repeats this. The weird thing is I can push in the clutch and it will rev fine,it only seems to do it under load after cold starts. after reving it a few times what ever the problem is clears and the car runs fine.

not to sure where to start looking since the car doesn't throw any codes. any help would be appriciated.

specs on the motor in case they are needed in helping diagnose the problem.

88 civic converted to mpfi and obd1
b16a with good compression
running stock p28 ecu
Professional Products intake mani
blox stage 1 cams
full 2.25" exhaust.

Thanks,
B

nope I don't get any cels . stock p28 should run a b16 fine just a little leaner and no knock board. please correct me if I'm wrong here. not sure why it would only do it somtimes if it was a problem with the ecu.

Thanks,
B
