'03 Accord - Manual Transmission Fluid Change ?
Hey again everyone,
I am going to be changing the manual tranny fluid (MTF) on my old man's '03 Accord. I picked up 3L (3 quarts for you US folk) of Redline MTL, which the Redline guy I spoke to on the phone said was the perfect MTF for my use.
Anyways, I want to know how I replace the fluid? I talked to the parrts dept at my local dealer and was told it's simply 2.5L on a drain and fill, so that's why I only bought 3L.
However, I assume there is a drain plug on the tranny, but is there, like with most manuals, a seperate, higher up fill plug? If so, how are most people managing to get the fluid out of the bottle up there?
Thanks!

Best bet is to get a pump from your parts store. Similar to the kind you use for hand soap.
I also don't reccoment using an aftermarket fluid.
If it's too heavy it will destroy your transmission

Most honda manual trans. you have to refill from the bottom, i know on my car you can refill from the top of the trans. There is a little square looking 3/8 in. ratchet bold almost the same as the drainbolt but flat located at the top of the trans which it can be filled from there. Then under the car just above the drainbolt there is a 10mm bolt which is where you check the level of the trans fluid, i am not sure about the 4cyl manuals but this is how my v6 6-speed is. But like i said before most you have to refill from the bottom i bought a fluid pump to fill the fluid here is a link to that...

Can anyone tell me if there is a fill hole on the top, or am I going to have to get a pressurized filler?
If there is a hole in the top, I think I will just cut two holes in the lid of my tranny fluid and put two clear pieces of tube down it and do like this guy does with his fluid here:

basically using my compressor to force the fluid up the tube, into the tranny!

ok today i did a transmission service on a 4cyl manual you got lucky. OK you have to fill the trans from the bottom of the vehicle, the fill whole is on the driverside right above the drainhole for the trans, you will need some kind of pump to pump in the fluid and two crush washers for the drain and fill bolts, and of course 2 quarts of honda MTF.
So it has a fill hole above the tranny?
So I don't need to force the fluid in, I only have to fill it until the fill hole starts to dribble?
Nice! Thanks for posting!
