speedo 10 MPH off.....any ideas?????
My speedometer is ~ 10 mph lower than the actual speed at which I am driving at. It was like this for about a month, then I blew my tranny...I put the new tranny in a few days ago and it is doing the same thing.
The only thing I can think is that I used the same speedo detector unit (the little gadget that bolts onto the tranny and then the speedo cable slips into). Could this be the root of the problem, or could it be something else?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

could you just re-adjust the needle? although it may cause inaccuracy if part of the system isnt 100% linear. it's worth a try though. its only a matter of pulling it off and putting it back on. just a suggestion. sorry i dont have an explanation for you though
thanks for the suggestion....so does the needle just pull straight back? Just kinda slides off? I can't imagaine how it could have gotten off 10 MPH because the needle got moved....but who knows.
Anyone else?
