type-r header? type-r cat?
i have a 99 dc4 and was thinking of upgrading my header to a type-r header cause ive heard of it being done beforei think its a relatively cheap alternative since i want to go boost in the next couple years. recently i got S2 exhaust. i know there are different bolt patterns for the type-r or is the header a 2 piece? maybe just unbolting the lower half and bolting it to my ls? or will this require me to redrill holes to proper bolt pattern to get my 2.5" collector? also looking into getting a high flow cat...should i just go type-r cat as well or go aftermarket? if aftermarket which would you recommend best suited for a DD and needs to hold up its end at inspection time.

if you'll be boosting later dont waste the money on a itr header. just get a cheapo dc or similar. the itr 4-1 is one piece and if i remember correctly will bolt straight up to an ls head. you'll either need to modify your stock cat to fit the 2.5" collector or get an aftermarket like carsound.
type-R cat isent going to do much a regular one wouldnt, Random Technology makes a nice performance cat, but tend to be on the expensive side. there are alot of diffrent "performance" cat's on the market -best to do a little research. If emissions arnet in the future, a test pipe is cheap and works well- although it wont make you any more popular with the lawmen-
