hey i was wondering whats the best header for my 01 GSR? I have heard that the JDM ITR header is good but i also head the skunk2 and greddy headers are good too...what are yalls suggestions?

 

Rage header for $650- exact copy of the $1300 SMSP header. Don't waste your $ on a DC or Greddy header, they won't make any more power than the JDM ITR or even a Megan Racing header. Look around in the classifieds and check out the faqs at the top of every forum for more info on headers.

 

This is on a sidenote. I dont know the best header to make power. I have a ceramic coated DC header. It is almost rusted through in a year. That is not the best header.
For me, needing reliable transportation, the best header is not one that develops rust holes in a year. Maybe stainless steel from a good company (it would fit) would be better. Dunno

 

Did you get that DC Ceramic Header from Ebay? or a Reputable Shop? A friend bought one off Ebay and I swear that junk looks fake but it says DC and also came with a copy of DC install directions.

 

Not Ebay, one of the biggest online shops at the time and was a sponsor of Honda Tech (dont remember the name). Maybe it is a fake , but I dont think so. Looked to professional and fit to well.

 

I consider SMSP and RMF to be up there but it will put a hole in your pocket. But everything about them is amazing. They will custom fab you one based on your setup if need be.

RMF is hands down the best header. I have dyno'ed 4 headers on my 225whp gsr and guess which one was the best

Toda is good but depending on what this guy wants to spend. I personally would reccomend an RMF. Thats what I am getting but again like Ali said, it will put a hole in your pocket but at least you will have a quality part that will last and perform.

dont knock it til you tried it...ive had megan headers on my past 2 tegs, and each time, ive been satisfied...i think they made a big power difference, and there not that expensive either....

 

the best header is the one that makes the most power for your setup and fits your budget. rmf, hytech, smsp, dtr, can make a header custom tailored to your exact setup but will be expensive.

 

^^^^ Exactly. The "best" header for any application will be different depending on what other parts you have, what your goals are, etc, etc, etc...

His H-T username is RMF, PM him and tell him what you got and he will give you a price. That's what I did. I am buying mine in January when I finish my build.

It's comptech dude, everything they make is sweet. However, I bought a used DC 4-2-1 header for 50 bones and I like it. Definately worth 50 bux.
