zc tranny - HELP
People say, some d16a's have all the three boltholes for an intermediate shaft , some have just one. I've heard from a guy who ran the zc setup, with just one bolthole for the shaft. Other people drill and tap the extra holes.
Get under your car and check for yourself how many hole you have:
they are in the area under/and to the left from the oil filter

so where exactly am i looking for the three holes for the shaft???? what part of the car? im lost...
the guy im buying from says "Only the axles would need to be modified. Your si axles would need a larger diameter spline put on the tranny side of them. You could just take your axles and the tranny down to like CV pros and tell them you need those axles to fit that tranny and keep them the same length. They should be able to do it. I cannot say they will because I have never tried, but they should be able to. They just need to put integra ends on your si axles. "
then people on this post are saying the ZC axles would fit without mods....which one is right???????

The tranny will bolt onto the motor with no problems. They are both D-Series.
Now, in order to use a ZC tranny, you have to have the ZC axles because of the diameter
of the spline is larger then the si or dx axles(tranny side). ZC axles are a three piece design
which means there is a mid shaft that bolts onto the motor. Now, as far as I know, the ZC
is the only motor which has the mounting holes to bolt the ZC mid shaft up to. I have
included a pic of this so you can check your motor. So, you must have a ZC motor and ZC
axles in order to use a ZC trans.
The only way around not having a ZC motor and using a ZC trans is by taking your axles
and getting them modified and putting integra ends(tranny side) on them. You will then be
able to use a ZC trans with any motor.
Or like nikitad said, just use one bolt and see how that works. Or tap another.
