Battery help

Default Battery help

I was driving down the road and my battery light came on, i have a 88 honda civic this has never happened before the battery is ok but i don't know if it is my alternator or not, i just need to know some of the symptyms of why this would happen

you can take off your alternator and get it tested at your nearest autozone, or your battery.

start the car up and while its running take the battery cable loose. If the engine dies then is your alternator

how would you check the regulator and where is it located

the voltage regulator is part of the alternator, all in one

the light comes on when your system is not effectively charging the battery. most likely you have a loose ground, or your alternator is dying.
