Default Ducati, Aprilia, MV Agusta.

Not seeing many of these around. maybe it is just me. But does anybody ride one of my favorite bikes? Like the:

Aprilia RSV,

The 999R from Ducati,

Or the F4 series from Agusta.

"MSchu" rides an Aprilia RSV Nera, that's the most ballerific bike in here by far.

Some others in here have Ducati Superbikes but I think they are mostly the 748/9. One guy has a really nice 916, "teacher" or something like that.

Why? RCs are nice but have none of that exotic appeal...I think it's an Italian thing.

I'm sorry but the rc51 doesn't belong on the same list as those others... I'm a v-twin nutswinger too but I can't stand the way they look.

I wrote a big long list of why i prefer the RC over the other bikes, and then realized i'd just be post whoring.
Bottom line is, I love the RC and think it's the best. No need for me to fantasize over dream bikes because i ride mine.

i will say that from the factory, the RC51 is probably the most lacking. It needs slip-ons, a power commander, a 180/55, new gearing, and a shimmed up rear shock before it begins to ride like a dream bike.

i think a lot of people are scared to buy italian bikes because of price - if you are patient, and search you can find these bikes sometimes cheaper than what all these gixxers and yammys go for - but you'll sacrafice a year or two on the age of the bike.

the rc51 is a bootyful bike - but if i had my choice b/w that or my Mille - i prefer my mille. but that is personal preference and to each his own.

WOW - heeey you guyyyyyyyyyyys! The RC not only belongs on that list, it's the one that deserves to be there the most. Honda built the bike to beat the Duc's in World Superbike - and it did, in spectacular fashion. It doesn't get much more pure than a bike built just to shove it to another manufacturer in a headlining race series.

It's not exotic? What, did somebody start buying Lamborghinis? Call me crazy, but I'd rather have an undervalued rocketship than an overpriced lardcart just because of it's bling factor.

I'd rather have a c6 z06 then a lot of exotics too but that doesn't matter. It was 1 persons dream bike list and saying some bike you own should be on someone elses list is stupid. A case could be made for just about every bike made. My superhawk should cause it has the biggest ******* carbs on a road vehicle. Not to mention it having the v-twin spirit but is actually comfortable and kills the environment just the same. Can't get more pure then that.... Plus there's a long line of bikes I'll get before the rc51. Most notably the 1000rr.

Uh...what? It's one guy's dream list. If he doesn't get wet about the RC it doesn't need to be there.

No matter how 'good' they are, RCs are easy to come by for not much $$, which kind of deflates the exotic balloon a little. And, when compared with the Italian bikes we are discussing here, they are aesthetically lacking to anyone but the most dedicated Honda sack-swinger.

Whoa, ok, back it off a notch. I'm just giving you folks a hard time; if you don't like the bike it's no skin off my back. Either way, though, what may have started as a thread about one guy's dream bike list turned into one about several folks' lists.
