tranny problem
more than likely the front balancer shaft seal. They have a tendancy to pop out and you will need to install a retainer kit. Might as well change the t-belt, drive belts, water pump and any other wearable part since you gotta take all that stuff off to get to it
I've heard of a lot of 5th gens having problems with the oil pan gaskets. I know the one on my 97 is leaking. Maybe check that? Other than that, oil could be leaking from anywhere.
Umm is it leaking from the tranny, or the rear main? If you already know where it's leaking why start a thread asking where it's coming from?
Also, is it clearly old oil? or is it kinda dirty, but for the most part still clean? Some people use 10w30/40 in their Manual Trannies instead of MTF.

whats the whole story? is it a manual or auto? is the leak pink fluid or black fluid?
How many miles on this creampuff? are the axleseals at the differential dry?
Have you blasted the area with a spray can of brake clean then driven it to recheck the leak?

yo amigo for your information,, 10w30 IS tranny fluid ,,(mtf) ,, that's what honda used for many many years in the manual trannies and still they say that you can use it
racing you need to give us more details for us to give you a more precise response
the most inportant 1 if it leaks at tranny fluid or engine oil
if it is AT tranny fluid than it is not the REAR MAIN SEAL , also the area where about the leak is at ..
it could be axle seal, torque convertor seal, shifter shaft seal, etc etc

However I've seen more than my fair share of people using gearlube like 75w90 and crap in their MT's. Thus, me asking. Btw, he doesnt have a TQ Converter, he already said it's a MT. He said it's leaking at the back of the block/bellhousing... so not the axle seal. Shifter shaft?? Shift linkage maybe? nope... think about where it's at. The rear main seal simply seals up the back of the crank. If it's coming out of the bellhousing, it's most likely the seal right inside of it. (input shaft seal?) Probably cost like 10 bucks or less.
