i used the same kind of paint for my car but i used a spray gun instead of using a roller. the roller left too many lumps, they might be able to be sanded down but it would take way too much time. yeah anyways using a gun and wetsanding it down looks really good for the price.

I paid about 60-70 as well mostly paper...its jsut labor that gets you but the good thing is you can do it when you want, paint the hood take a break, wetsand the next day, etc. Overall i think its not a bad choice since its my first car and didnt wanan spend 4k on paint and body

cool so it just took you a few days then? I know what you're saying about saving money, I just cant stand body work and if I had an older car I didnt care about the paint being great on, I would just AHH OHH go to maaco and save the time i would have spent on body work doing something more useful, like getting CRUNK!!!

Well i have been working on it since tuesday and all i have left is a polish..I had ALOT of body work and this is my first car so i figured hell why not learn, so i welded new peice of the 1/4 panel, took off the spoiler, and plugged all the emblem holes. The hardest part is wetsanding and im a a weak ***. I figure if i mess up my car hell its only 50$ not 4k

im not trying to diss you, or put down the Idea of a homemade paint job (hell i did that on my s13 240sx). But if you have a little more cash, you should check out some of the colleges in your area with automotive programs. I know the college im at now has automotive programs where staff members, students, friends etc can sign up to have your car worked on.

Here to get a car painted they go flat rate, but charge $20 per hour. You dont pay for the paint because thats figured into the $20 per hour. If it should take 20hrs for paint then you pay $400. And the starting students dont even touch a paint gun...so it wont come out like ****.

Just a little food for thought.
