Default Dyno Numbers on my ITR

I was on a dyno yesterday and i think i should be a little dissapointed. I only have 106KW (142hp). The only mod is a Supersprint header. I was thinking of putting the original header on and trying again as I'm not sure of the quality of the one I have on. Opinions?

sure it a GSR...all ITR have at least 159+ whp. OR another problem could be "they don't know how to dyno"

I was thinking it was pretty low. I don't know how you Dyno, but maybe the guy did it wrong. Here's how he did it:

Started driving very slowly and shifted through to 3rd gear. He then took the Tachometer to around 8700(indicated) and then put the clutch in. He then let the rpms go down very slowly. He did this twice...the same way both times. What makes me wonder is where it says "max.Leistung bei 070 U/min". That means max.Power at 7000 rpms. I wonder why it is 7000 and not 8000 or so like my tachometer read.

I will be going to a different one to get it done again.

There are no GSRs in Germany.
I think you just made 142 whp at 7000 rpm. There is something wrong with the dyno. Maybe the dyno thinks it's only 7000 rpm instead of 8000 rpm. If you correct this: 8000/7000 * 142 = 162 whp. That sounds more realistic!!!

If that is 142@7000 that is still low since that equates to 106.5 lb-ft. Stock B18C5s tend to lose 8-10% in torque from 7k to 8k. Being conservative you'd be at 98 lb-ft @8000 or 149whp.

According to the graph the peak was around 155km/hr which is 96mph. Is that right for redline in 3rd?

BTW, here's a good site to do conversions http://mdmetric.com/tech/lthmasscvt.htm

Here's the graph

My ITR (JDM final gear) redlines at 130 km/h in 3rd gear @ 8500!!! There is something wrong with the WHP figure, because the 138 KW (188 hp) at the crank sounds good!!
If it's 150 km/h @ 7000 rpm it has to be 4th gear!!!

Maybe he is developing that amount of torque at 8000 rpm, but the dyno use 7000 for the calculation of the power....

138kW = 185whp per http://pump.net/thebasics/unitconvfactors.htm , but what's a few hp between friends

I guess I will be going to a different place to get a comparison. As a side note, I replaced my aftermarket muffler (no name DTM model) with the original muffler and gained 2km/h top speed (indicated from 239 to 241) and it was quicker to get there.

I will post the results when I get the chance to go again with this setup.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Is it possible that I could be showing such low numbers because I have 17" BBS rims and 205/40/17 tires?

how are the dynos over there?

dynojet etc?

for instance a stang dyno will yield on avg 10% less then on a jet dyno

if not, then thats gs-r stock territroy, my GS-R with a short ram made 143whp, hopefully your engine is ok, but take all the steps to ensure that

good luck
