Default Anyone tried out the new Omni forged FLCA's?

Being looking at this product since they came out. Very pricey yes, but I suppose since theirs is the only one on the market they can set the price.

Since I have my dream suspension in transit(Spoon N1) I've been looking at suspension components more closely. I'm considering the Function7 rear LCA's as well along with front and rear camber kits.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about here is a pic.

Anyone used these suckers yet?

If those are rear LCA's I can tell you that you would not be able to use your Spoon N1's. Those LCA's would work with GSR type rear shocks.

are they the same dimensions as stock? If they're the same except they shave weight, you can't go wrong unless of course they break... are they listed as a street part or "race-only"?

I was hoping the title was a typo. Looks like they removed some of the bracing that the factory ones have.

EDIT: It appears that the part I am speaking of can be removed and used on these.

i'd be worried they would break on the track after a while chris, if you find someone that's tracked with them lots with no problems then

Omni stated that they are made out of a stronger material hench the high price. I forget what it is made of but, im guessing you cant skimp on material if it's an important suspension piece like that.
Oh heres the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1645804 scroll down to omni's post.

To be totally honest, you're spending that much on the actual coilover why go with something like that made from Omni knowing their product history...

I'd go with Mugen bushings if you want better bushings, but the whole bling bling LCA thing is something I've never understood to begin with.

If I were to ever change the front lower control arms, it would only be to install spherical bearings in place of the factory bushings.

On a side note, nothing made by Omni Power will ever be installed on any of my cars.

from kingmotorsports.com

There is no other product on available on the market like this! Omni Power’s new front lower control arms are forged with a special exotic high strength aluminum based alloy. Each control arm is then hard anodized to eliminate corrosion and maintain a show quality look. Omni-Power uses a solid design for added strength and U.S. made replaceable polyurethane bushings. These FLCA's are a direct replacement for the front 2-piece design and require no modifications for an easy installation. Typical weight savings adds up to about 7+ pounds depending on the vehicle model.

Saving weight sounds like a good idea to me. I wonder how much lighter these "actually are" vs. stock?

diet??

jk, but seriously...7lbs isnt THAT much weight savings...unless its like the absolute last item on your CAR'S diet. i mean i guess its unsprung weight, but i'm not really sure how that differs from sprung weight in terms of performance.

Reducing unsprung weight is my goal. The poly bushings, however, would be the only drawback for me. Having said that, I would most likely replace them with the Mugen bushings . I have Mugen engine mounts on the way anyway. I really like the harder vulcanized rubber idea rather than urethane for any bushing.

As far as the "Omni" brand name and the obvious reputation that goes with it, that is a minor concern; which is why I'd like to see some real reviews.

ok so what is the point of replacing the Front and rear LCA? is there any other real reason besides the wait? seems like a lot of money just to loose a few pounds.

There are people who go through the car to find a lb or two to lose here and there. These are the people who will be interested in lightweight LCA's.

If you have items like a/c, radio, etc you need not worry about shaving weight through lightweight suspension arms.

haha, I started laughing when I read this... its like saying carbordium, or paperithium.....

I dunno though, on FLCA I don't think there would be any benifits from these, other than pure "pimplithium" factor.

X100 but I cannot give reasons why because I almost got booted last time I did so I suggest a search.

Draw your own conclusions. I know a lot of people here on the board like them and support them, and that's their choice.

Aluminum lower control arms would help the car to lose weight, which is always a good thing.
