Default Project DC4-R

well the b18c1 build was getting pretty cludderd so i guess ill post my other project going along. the ol 94 ls...

Well the N/A GSR Build thread is geting pretty long and i figured id start a new thread about a new project.

My 94' LS is now becoming a track car. for summit point possibly, and the strip..

8/23/06

Pulled the engine. Since we didnt have an engine crane at the time, i ended up taking the head off, dropping the trans, and then take the block out through the bottom with a floor jack..

The rear interior was gutted about a week ago, no sound deadner, only thing back there are those sexy Tein Pillowball mounts.

The Car has one seat in it for right now , and the dash, The sound deadner still needs to come out in the front areas.

As for the body, the antenna, and stock gsr spoiler holes have been shaved and the paint is starting to be scuffed up. The side moldings have been removed to shave them as well.

General thoughts right now is to fab up a nice cage for the rear, fill in some nice dings in the rear section and sand down to paint a gunmetal color.

The body will be painted with John Deere Black . right now i forget the name of the actual color, but ill get back with that when i find out.

so time for some pics.

i guess i could possibly bring it to one.

got more sanding down and prepping tonight, in the process of shaving the side molding holes. got some dents out , took off the rear bumper to paint and sand seperately. Installed the Walbro 255lph pump as well.

next is working on some wiring for the gauges and rerouting stock harness etc.

Plans for the switches in the center console are as follows. Cooling Fan , Fuel Pump.

I need to extended the stock window switch harness to inside the cabin and not on the door because i dont have any door panels.

The Pass air bag will be taken out shortly and repaced with the stock srs cover.

Should be picking up some more sand paper and filler primer tomorrow. Still deciding on what black paint to use..hmm..clear? or just matte?

Still debating on the abs delete. the rs prop. valve is just a rediculous price..

the car is now 3/4 done sanding. Thinking of ways to cover the sunroof hole without buying cf. weld?

anyway thats enough for tonight. ill check back in tomorrow evening with some pics and an update

well last night me and nick welded the stock spoiler holes and side molding holes, all the rear emblem holes. sanded down and bondo'd over. looks great!

Sanded down almost all the front bumper, and the screwed up fender lol. put the wheels back on the car for a rolling chassis to take to get painted!.

Off topic,

before anyone starts flaming, I wanted to ask... why did you title this DC4-R????
I would change it, but its your thread....and also your car. Call it what you want, but just giving you heads up for the possible flamage for the title......

8.28.06update.

well i ended up getting to sand down and smooth out the welded holes in the hatch, bondo'd in and smoothed out with 400.

the entire driver side is almost complete. Just need to go over it with 400 once more. the welding of the side molding holes went great, turned out perfect. although the pass side has yet to be welded, should be doing that tomorrow.

Parts list to get:
abs delete, rs master, rs prop valve, rs front lines and rs hard lines to prop valve.

anyone have that f/s?

meanwhile. id say 80% of sanding is completed. just going to decide on a color to paint it and bring my painter with me to pick out everthing he will need.

Ended up spraying half the interior with metallic gunmetal paint. i will probably end up just going a white color, but for now it looks fine.

Removed the entire srs system , heater, evap core and harness. reinstalled dash. need to put back in sunroof.

We took off the greddy evoII exhaust and will be for sale. should be replaced with a 2.5" exh pipe from the header, to the middle hanger with a 24" resognator.

Side moldings will be painted same color as car as well.

Well thats it for tonight, im sure i forgot some things.
