i want to spray paint my stock SH wheels, flat black. Is is necessary to sand down before painting, if so what sand paper can i use to not leave the sanding streaks after paint. thanks

If I were you, I would give it to a professional powder coating shop to do it for me.

i helped my friend paint his wheels for his mazda3. what we did was clean the wheels with degreaser. then wetsanded with 180 grit and then 320 grit. i fixed a little of his curb rash with some body filler (like bondo). then we sprayed 3 coats of SEM self-etching primer. after that dried for about an hour we sprayed on 4 coats of some custom mixed enamel that we got from a local paint shop. they turned out really well. heres a pic. i'll try to get some better pics later. oh yea, the color is gunmetal.
