my speedo is not working so i know i need a new vss. thing is, my tranny isn't a stock gsr tranny and i pulled off my vss, it is only a single bolt on to the tranny. i checked my local honda and acura and they don't know. anyone happen to know what type of tranny / vss i might have?

it's a single bolt on from the vss unit to the tranny.

There should only be one bolt holding it to the tranny. Two bolts attach the VSS to a bracket and then one bolt attaches the bracket to the housing.

What do you mean by "my tranny isn't a stock tranny"?

well i guess what i meant is that it's not the stock gsr tranny. my old tranny cracked and i threw on whatever tranny i had. i thought it was a b16, but i checked with honda and they dont know which tranny i have.

so all vss comes with 2 bolts? i'll check my vss again. thnx for the input.

 

as far as i know... all the 94-01 b series tranny's vss are interchangeable

If i remember correctly, its 2 bolts to bracket, and 1 bolt for the bracket to attach to the tranny.
