page didn't work for me. I have never been impressed with jensen... Seems like a good deal. If it comes new with a warranty than I say go for it. if not I would go with the clarion touch screen. IMO with the clarion you get a lot for your money.
i know of 2 people in real life, and one on here that have that hu....nothing HORRIBLE to say, it IS jensen(jensen=walmart) and it WILL break! but hey its 1/2 the price of the next step up. If you arent running an amp for your speakers your going to be pissed at the horrible horrible quietness. This is like a high school kids first Hu more than a audipphile or serious persons hu.
i think jensen sucks if you do get it make sure you get extra warranty cause i heard that they are not that reliable. but if it was me i would get a pioneer or clarion
i just installed a jensen flipout the other day for some guy. piece of chit. save your money, how much is an alpine ivad 100, also i think kenwood has a new entry level screen.

I've installed many in-dash jensens, for the price it's not that bad, but be careful of the menu toggle, it sucks. if you want to go right it goes up or down, if you want to go up it goes left or right, you've got to push it in a precise angle to make it go where you want it to go. or you can use the 2-3 remotes it comes with.
I too have installed many of the jensen units. since the were aquired by AUDIOVOX a few years ago...the screens are a night and day difference (better picture quality, performance, etc). Now with that being said-for the money ($450-$600 avg) you can't beat it. Keep in mind that some older pre audiovox gear is still out there ,which can account for some of the perception. I would definatly recommend this budget screen if it fit your needs.
vicn77 your right-the remotes are a riot-you need a caddy for them all

I just gotta bring this back from the archive. I just picked up the jensen VM9311TS, and i love it. for $430 and a warranty. And i found the code online so you dont have to have the parking brake hooked up. The picture is crisp and very clear. It was pretty tricky getting it installed into a dc2 because of the dash, but its in and works very well. Would highly recommend this to anyone on a budget.
i've installed a bunch. the stupidest thing would have to be the retarded parking brake sequence. u've gotta drop the brake, count, then pull it up.. it's retarded. the ***** break on the units. but it's a good bang for the buck. i'm actually interested in getting it since i don't beat on my stuff. and an extended warranty will be your best friend. i wouldn't get one without it.

Its really no different than say Alpine's or many other manufactures interlock sequence. Why are people so determined to watch/display video while driving
? Hell,my mother-in-law was is a 3 car accident (she was last),because the driver was watching something instead of the road ahead. The SUV spun one car out of the way and plowed the 2nd car into hers-and then ran. All the witness could give was a color, make and it have TV's everywhere. Its bad enough just driving now...but some just have to be "cool" i guess.

well i can't watch tv while driving even tho i know how to hook it up that way. but even when u want to watch tv at a deadstop. u can have to count for the sequence and what not. so i dunno how u determined that i implied that i wanted to be cool and watch tv while i drive. i'm cool tho.. i'm an installer and get to have some benefits like remote start on a 5spd. get what i mean.
The nice thing about this is you can enter a maufactures code and completely disable the parking brake sequence completly. So now when i get in it doesnt even look for the parking brake. If anyones interested, i can get you the code. Its like entering a cheat code in a video game.

Where did you find the codes at for the head unit. I hooked mine up to a switch so the t.v could play without it hooked up to the e-brake the only thing is you have to turn the switch on then off then back on for it to work. But if i could have the code i would not have to worry about the switch. Thanks

Most people were charging like $5 dollars for this info but i say expletive that.
There are two ways of doing this:
Insert the DVD
After the disc loads and plays you will see a blue screen telling you "it is unlawful to drive with a movie blah blah blah"
1)Activate the brake sequence and disable the blue screen using the hand brake, the switch method or anything else to give the unit its three pulses to disable that freakin blue screen.
(So basicaly hook it up as normal through a switch and activate the screen like you normaly would.)
2) Next, on the main remote press stop twice, then 1, 2, 6, 4.
You will now see a hidden menu that says:
Region Code
Brake Override (I know you're drooling by now)
Macrovision (Watch all the burned and pirated movies you want if this option is off)
Loader Version
Model Version
3) Using the right joystick on the unit, navigate to the options of your choice, click on them to toggle on, off or which region code you want.
This is what you want:
Region Code: 1
Brake Override ON
Macrovision: OFF
When your done, click SYS SETUP on the main remote TWICE to save the settings and bingo, your done!!! Hooray!!! You can now kill your whole family in the car while watching that adult movie while your driving.....
The other way of doing this is by not engaging the parking brake sequence, thus you're inputting the code blindly.
1) Insert the DVD and you'll get the blue screen.
(If you have more than one tv, the unit itself will have the blue screen but the additional tv's you have plugged in will NOT, they will show the dvd menu. Thus you will be able to see the hidden menu on the additional screens after inputting the code, but not on the main unit because of its blue screen.)
2) On the main remote, push stop twice and then 1, 2, 6, 4
3) Push the joystick on the unit SOUTH twice and then click it once.
4) Press SYS SETUP on the main remote twice to save your settings.
It may take a few tries but you'll get it. This method can be done if you don't want to bother temporarily activating the brake sequence, but if you only have the unit and no additional tv's, its #$%^&* damn hardbecause you can't see the settings your changing.
I tried to make this as clear as possible. If you have questions, private message me or post here.
Best of Luck!
By the way, this is for informational purposes only and I will not be responsible for anything bad/stupid/ignorant you do with your Jensen unit

You have to get an power inverter that converts dc (car) to ac (home). look at the wattage of the ps2 and match it with one from a store. you can pick em up for like 30-40 at walmart. Then just wire it to a 12 volt power source in the car. I chose a keyed source so you dont kill the battery leaving it on.

I know this is kind of a threadjack, but does anyone know the code for the new Dual units? I think it's retarded having to switch it on and off 4 times, waiting 2 seconds between each flick...
By "keyed source" he means something that only gives 12 volts when the key is in the ignition -- ie. Switched.
