wierd noise when backing up
is the noise from the front or rear? You might need to turn down the stereo and roll down the window.
brake dust in the rear hubs is a common cause of groan/howl noise

next time it does it i will give it a listen. if this is the case should i just leave it be or is there anything i can do to get rid of the noise? thanks
its an automatic tranny. it doesnt do it all the time just after i have been driving a bit then back up. if it makes any difference about two months ago i replaced my pads and rotors.

Pretty sure that's the reason anyway.
If it's an auto... well I dunno, if it is infact from break dust, do some cleaning.

check your CV axles boots...if one is busted and all the grease is gone it will make that noise 'cause the joints are metal to metal. should happen when you're turning the steering wheel, right? You'll need to take the wheels off to inspect them.
yeah it is louder when i turn the wheel, it doesnt always make the noise though. how much trouble would this be to fix? is it generally an expensive fix? what should i be looking for when i take the wheel off?
