simple....between the 3rd and 4th cylinder, above the exhaust manifold, stamped in a little circle on the head.
it looks like a circle with a slash through it... 1 number on each side of the slash
for example "(9/2)" thats would be a 1992

The stamp on the head does not tell what year vehicle the motor cam out of. It can either be the year of the stamp or one year after.
The best way would be the serial number on the block. Each master helms book shows the possible serial numbers for that year.

most of the time, if your motor is stock, you can tell by looking at the head, since you got the b20, most likely you will have an ls head? and the head can be anything

what are you talking about? most b20's had "p75" heads, if its a B20 then there should be a VIN tag on the block, right? If there is then you can run the VIN and determine what year it is.

yes its the jdm b20 and it does have that serial number. but how do i tell what the year is from that number. gota change my timing belt soon, thats why im wondering.
look at the head, there's a casting number... it will have the year. i believe all timing belts for LS/B20 are the same...
