Is the Tokico Illumina Suspension Kit any good?
Kits includes 4 Tokico springs and 4 Tokico Illumina Adjustable struts:
http://www.importhorizon.com/t....html
I have a 92 gsr. I would like to hear opinions from those who own this set up.
Are there fitment problems? Are they hard to adjust? Are there any problems?
How low do they lower the car? I don't want to lower the car too much. Less than 1" or 1" drop is best for me.
$465.00 is the best price I found for this kit. Is there a better price?

im running tokico illuminas with skunk 2 coilovers in my DC (95 integra)
They are not super great but if you are using them over stock you will like them for sure.
they are adjustable and a pretty decent price. They still ride fairly well too. (at least on my like ... 2 inch drop)
My sister has kyb AGX shocks on her integra(91) with some coil overs i can't remember which now... but that thing is dropped pretty low and handles great...
she has a couple more mods like strut tower bars however which also assist it :]
Good luck

i have them with comptech springs...in my opinion i think they are well worth the money...they are super stiff when set to 5 and the car handles like money...even with terrible tires...add some strut tower bars and you will have a autocross machine

I agree if you really want to stick with springs ...for a couple hundred more you could get a omni or ksport full coilover kit with custom spring rates just a thought...

Depends on how you like your ride.
I usually roll around with setting 3 in the front, 2 in the back for normal driving, then change it to setting 5 in the front, 4 in the back when I'm driving on canyon/mountain roads.

I have those shocks, but not sure what kind of springs i have, but the shocks are great, cornering and handling is awsome, Havent really played with the adjustments, have it set to 5 really stiff, NO bouncing at all.

I'd say they're actually on the softer side, my brother's Koni Yellows are a lot stiffer and nicer (Konis are the best shocks you can buy, but also most expensive). I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount of miles on them though, because I got them used with unknown miles, and used Eibach Pro Kit springs also with unknown miles. I daily drive it at 5 rear and 4 front (to help not understeer as much) and it feels kinda too soft... a BIG improvement over stock, but still too soft. I wonder if it's because of the springs though. Also I have some crappy crappy tires so it still handles pretty crappy but of course better than stock suspension. Just giving you some info if you're looking to buy them...

If you're going for a shock/spring setup, yes. What do you say is better? They have actually done shock dyno testing and proved that Konis are best and Illuminas are second-best.
And I'm not talking about full coilovers, just a shock and spring/coilover sleeve setup.

I have the Illumina-R complete coilover kit. I installed the kit on my 97 GSR about a year ago with no problems whatsoever. If I recall correctly, the only OEM parts the kit reused were the strut rod dust shields (plastic covers).
On my previous car (98 Civic EX) I had Tokico Blue Struts and man, what a difference the Illuminas made... The ride is more comfortable on the softer settings, and on the harder shock settings the car is able to handle much more aggressively without rattling your brain out of your skull. Also my old Tokico blues were noisy as hell (always squeaking) after about a year or so of use. The Illuminas make no sounds at all, give you a nice range of stiffness, are pretty easy to adjust ride height, and are now competitvely priced. I would reccommend them to anybody who wants a coilover kit to be used for a mix of street and light track (autocross) use.

Well thats something that you need to fine tune once you install the kit. Its not going to magically be the correct ride height all around as soon as you put it on. Even if you adjust the plates on all the coilovers to the same level, once you put them in, one side of the car could possibly be higher than the other....there are many variables that will determine how your car sits upon installation (ie: allignment, tire pressure, weight distribution, etc.)
BTW once you install the coilovers, adjust ride height on a perfectly flat surface (obviously) and be sure to use some kind of ruler (my buddy had some measurement tool that was designed for this reason) to fine tune the height settings.
