swapped the y8 long block for the y7.
-using the y7 harness
-y7 dizzy
-and y7 tranny
everything else is from the y8. changed the firing order on the dizzy now the car sounds like it wants to start but for some reason it just doesnt turn over. when i try and start the car is just sounds like a lawnmower or a go kart.

why would you change the firing order of the dizzy, I always presumed the Y8 and Y7 dizzy were identical units. just to ask, so now you can get it to start but it sounds like it's missing?

yea i looked it up and the firing order on the dizzy is different from y7 to y8 and yea it seems like it wants to start up but something is just holding it back. ive check for fuel, spark, and air and its all there. i just cant figure out why it wouldnt turn over.
well you can try just setting the firing in order as it was on the y7, also check and make sure all sensors are in the correct locations. are you getting any cels when the car is started at all? just to ask did you modify your wire harness to run on a the y8?

well when i initiall swapped the dizzy from the y7 onto the y8 and tried to start it it didnt want to even turn over like it does now, when i changed the firing order it started to crank better. the sensors are all plugged in and we changed the wiring for the iac already. the only thing not wired is the oil pressure switcha and vtec becuase i dont have the ecu pins for it.

firing order for all four cyl hondas... 1-3-4-2. so they are the same. i think what you mean to say is that the orientation of the plug wires on the cap is shifted. the best thing to do to know you have it right is to set the crank to TDC on number one cylinder, then pull the cap off and see that the rotor is pointing to where you have the #1 plug wire on the cap. looking at the rotor it will spin clockwise so you can check the order from there. i would deffinately check that before i tried to do anything else to get it running. hope that's your problem man, it's an easy fix. good luck

i changed the stroke and it is still off by 5 or 6 teeth. im going to loosen the tensioner tonite and put everything back to TDC and hopefully get it straight.
Make sure if you do that , you have the crank at tdc and the cams as close as you can to tdc #1 cylinder should be on the drivers side of the car once the cam is TDC the intake and exhaust valves will be closed and you should be able to wiggle the rockers up and down a little bit
