flywheel/chutch
No experience with other brands but with the '90 Integra RS we are using an ACT Prolite flywheel and an Ebay XTC sport clutch/pressure plate. Went with the Prolite because I wanted a lightweight steel flywheel and the price wasn't bad (got it way back when on Ebay for $205). The Prolite flywheel is really not different from the stock flywheel in daily driveability; but once you rev up the motor past 3000 rpm you really notice the increased pulling power - especially in first and second gear. Went with the XTC because of price and they had an overall good review on G2IC. The XTC clutch/pressure plate combo has been holding up really well and has better clamping force than a stock clutch - no problem keeping the tires spinning (205/50-15 Hankook R-S2 Z-212's) if you give it gas. No complaints with the ACT Prolite flywheel or XTC sport clutch/pressure plate set from me... they have been great so far.
spoon flywheel and exedy street clutch. i really liked the spoon because it seemed to be the best compromise to me between the 7 lb "race flywheels" like fidanza and the 12 lb "street flywheels" that other companies make. i got a super good deal on an uninstalled spoon flywheel, i think if iahd to buy from the stores at list price i wouldnt have gone with it, as its a little over priced. the clutch is good if abit stiff for the street portion of my autoX car but overall its good

No, but some are definitely worse...
I too am an ACT Prolite user. Never had an aluminum flywheel, but don't really see the need, either. I've got their clutch and pressure plate, too, but I forget which one. Its yellow. For an NA road race application, you really don't need a clutch that would move a train. The stock type-R I had with my last gearbox was fine. The ACT is every bit as good and seems to put up well with all the standing starts we've had this season.
As an aside, I drove a 500+hp Civic at Bonneville last week that also had an ACT clutch in it. Smooth like butter, held like glue. Moral: whatever they recommend you need, its a good bet they're right!

I wasn't sure if anyone made a light steel flywheel. It's good to know that someone does. I found out at Barbers that a stock clutch just won't cut it for a road race application, even though I'll only be running TT's next season. I'm going to pat a 4.7 in soon and will probably do those while the trans is out. Thanks!
