Default Weird Humming From Front Passenger Side Wheel

Well maybe someone here can give me an idea on what could be causing my dilemma.

I have a 1998 Civic HX with the CVT transmission. Well, acouple of days ago, I started noticing a humming noise coming from the passenger front wheel.

This only happens when I stop after a long drive on the highway or drive a decent distance non-stop. When I come to a stop, there is a humming noise that seems to be playing "catch-up". When I say catch-up I mean that the humming starts out low and gradually gets louder.

This goes away when:

a)It's done "catching-up"
b)I bleep the throttle a bit
c)I put the transmission in neutral.

This is pretty annoying. My first thought maybe, just maybe it's the bearing, but I just wanted to see if anyone has had this before or can probably point me in the right direction.

Thank you in advance.

my first initial guess was going for the bearing as well. but then again what is the cvt tranny, sorry i'm pretty informative when it comes to cars and honda, but i don't know everything.

It stands for continously variable transmission. Here is the Wikipedia definition -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C...ssion
