Default 96-00 Type R wing with brake light?

So i like the look of the type R wing for my '00 civic hatch, but i dont want to lose the third brake light that i have on my stock DX wing (must have it by law here)

I have seen on ebay these type R "STYLE" wings with built in LEDs, I just want to know if there is a good brand that someone would recommend that has the brake light intigrated, or has anyone added a brake light to their real type r wing or perhaps added it behind the hatch glass when using a type r wing with no brake light.

These here are the pics of the ebay cheap looking imitation wing with brake light.

Yes, I agree, hence the reason the whole point of the thread was to see how others are doing it so i can AVOID the ebay crappiness.

Well that's good for you, but he didn't ask for your opinion.

What color is yours going to be? If it's going to be black, it'd look really good to put some VHT Nightshades on the brake light to smoke it out, but still have it light. Then you don't have to worry about how much it stands out.

How is the fitment?

Dont suppose you've seen it side by side with a real type R, is it pretty close in appearance?

I would be getting white, my hatch is stock frost white, no plans for painting it.

I have the same one

fitment was a lil tricky - I had to source threads to stick out of spoiler & then put on nuts/caps where the threads stick thru holes in the hatch.

I like having the 3rd brake light....I also painted the base a eggshell black so it looks oem

money shot

looks pretty good, looks like you spent the money where it really counts on the K.

Ok so I was originally pretty against the ebay wing, but its cheap, looks pretty good in those pics, perhaps I shall get one afterall.

Thanks for all the advice, guess I shall get it painted when I get my SI front grill painted to match my frost white.

Anyone else with this wing, either good or bad opinions and pics please post
