Default p28 or p72 chipped?..

which of the two chipped ecu's will be beneficial in a mild all motor setup. so far my setup consist i/h/e, and chipped p28, was a chipped p72 before, but ran like shi*t. parts on the way are bc3+ cams, aem cam gears, ti retainers and valve springs, blox intake manifold, edelbrock tb, fuel system upgrades later on, and a stock block for now. What performance gains or efficiency should i expect with the p28 over the p72 i had before.

Honestly....if you have an obd1 p72, I'd keep it stock because its actually worth more as a virgin ecu than it is chipped suprisingly. Since p28's are more abundant, I'd run a chipped p28, especially if your swapping to a single stage manifold. It definately would be beneficial if you get it tuned for your set up.

If both are chipped and running the same map, they should run the car identically minus the lack of IAB and knock sensor support on the P28.

I could be wrong, but if your going to run the ECU's chipped anyway, I think the only diff between the p72 and p28 is the p72 can open the secondary butterflies on the intake manifold, since your running a single stage, I'd go with the cheaper p28
