H22a1 vs H22a4 rods - Differences?
Are there any tolerance/measurement differences between the h22a1 and h22a4 rods?
Eagle has 2 different rod options. The a1 and a4/type-s. Unfortunately the a4/type-s uses a 5/16" bolt opposed to the 3/8" bolt that the a1 rod uses.
Honda uses different part numbers for the rods but the bearing numbers are identicle. I just wanted to double check that the rods are in fact interchangeable. I am using a 97 crank so the mains are the same as the 92-96 (not that it matters in relation to the rods).

A good picture to show the differences not from 97+ H22A rods but even within the same years of 92-96...Honda is wierd like that...
On the left thinner rod, on the right thicker rod with oil passage, Both appear to be jdm h22a rods from 92-96 era.
97+ I believe are free floating...?

Good picture.
Everything is the same. I just cross referenced all the specs. Thanks for posting the picture up so I could see the differences from the OEM parts.

Are you speaking of the wrist pin bore?
The difference from what I see is the 3/8" bolt on the a1 compared to the 5/6" on the a4 design.
