Tranny problem
will WAY to much tranny fluid cause my axle to blow out the tranny (passenger side).
For the past couple of days i have noticed that there was a small leak coming from the transmission. i ask my shop teacher what could be the problem. he says most likely it is over filled and trying to find a way out of the casing. so i continue to drive and fruequently check to see how much is leaking out. then a couple days later it stoped. then today rolled around when i was gripping turns down the mountain pretty hard then when it leveled off i went and ate lunch no leaks. then went to work threw her in reverse and thats when she starting sprew tranny fluid all over the place. i check the tranny for cracks bu there werent any. i had noticed that the axle was sticking alittle to far out and saw that that was were the leak was coming from. so i removed the axle to inspect it. more fluid came out. then i pulled the drain plug and like an *** load more came out. i mean the puddle i had to lay in had a good 20 foot diameter. i threw in 2.3 quarts of honda MTF and it seems like it is alittle quicker. so can to much fluid cause my axle to be pushed out.
thanks for the responses
btw. the honda dealership around here seals JDM parts for hatch backs and even the 06's. didnt know they did that.

I really doubt that the tranny fluid "pushed" the axle out. It was most likely coming out on it's own. Did you inspect the end of the axle for the retaining ring?
I bet that puddle smelled divine though.
