ok so i drove my car to work today and it started fine this morning... when i was ready to come home, i tried starting and it would start but when i let go of the key.. it would shut off.. the car would stay on if i hold the key in place but when i let go, it shuts off.. i also tried giving it gas but it doesnt work..
also went to kragen to ask why cuz i work next to one and they said it mite be my solenoid or starter.

anyone know what the problem is or how i can fix it?

So you have to hold the key in the on position or else it turns off correct? If thats the case then you need to replace the ignition switch.

 

i just got back from kragen again and they said it mite be some ignition lock thing thats suppose to hold my key in place.

im not sure what the case is... its so fraustrating not being able to drive my car and its also stuck at my work.

 

oh yea.. when u said i had to hold in the on position.. the on position would be the second turn?

when i said i have to hold the key in place, i really mean i have to hold the key all the way cranked for it to stay on. when i release it, it goes to the battery stage when i can roll up and down my windows but thats when the car shuts off

 

get a jump?

 

some other dude had this problem and ppl were saying have a friend there while you hold the key on and steer, he shifts and get your car to your house to be safer or tow it
