Suspension Poll (What's "Best"?)

It's taken an interesting turn. I knew Koni/GC would be up there, but the Omnipower showing is a big surprise.

Lol @ Omni.
Go figure.
I've used the Koni Sports/Ground Controls, with the tophats and #400F and #500R springs along with the rear 23mm JDM anti roll bar. From many events driving on the stock suspension (showing a little age) it was a big improvement. The car was flatter, more stable, could corner faster and it rotated a lot easier.
Now I'm running the Mugen Lowdowns but I havent gone to the track with them on yet though.

when it comes to suspension for competition/Track, i always thought there have something to do with the brand names..

Well one can break this into catagories don't you think?
Track = Only track
Track / Sport = Good enough for track but somewhat comfortable (tolerable) for street. In regards of comfort ride and stiffness
Sport = better than OEM. Firmer feel and better response with a smooth street drive
street = OEM or after market suspension that offers a great street drive.

i ride on spoon n1 f18/r16 in my ek hatch daily for a month now since my other car need a long period of time to repair..my back feels sore and hurt at the first couple of days (shitty road conditions), and now im driving my Bimmer which feels dizzy occationally due to softer suspension which feels like floating inside a boat

I fail to see how a non adjustable coilover like the omni can even be included in a poll like this.
Just goes to show the very, very wide range of people (and uses) voting.

Suspension for a race or dedicated track car, I would go with the Showa N1 (Mugen or Spoon).
But for everyday driving and occasional track event, I would go with the PIC.

You are kidding yourself if you think daily driving 18/16 is "doesn't matter".
I used to run 16/18/20 different spring combos on my street/track ITR and it's very rough. I only drove it to and from the track. If you drive such stiff rates everyday, I suspect that you would cause damages to your chassis, suspension, bushings, etc.

OOOoo DAMNNNNNnnn..... REVIEW please....
stock, mugen lowdown, mugen N1 and apex-i N1 user here.
in my personal opinion, I would never use another coilover damper on the street again which is why I have included the stock/mugen lowdown for this super important post of mine
The roads here aren't exactly bad, but I don't see the point in having a suspension with high limits on the road. I like a sporty ride, but even with good dampers from showa, high spring rates will still just about transmit every single pebble and or dime you roll over on the street.
If you find that enjoyable or "don't mind it" then all the power to you. I believe damper kits are like tires. You have street tires, you have track tires, you have snow tires. A "hybrid" damper kit is about as confused as an all season tire. Just what exactly are you good for?

Currently I'm on stock suspension, which is totally up to the job...
But I want her lowered a bit, just to make it look better. But since I love driving (I'm no hardparker
) I won't slam or do bullshit suspension.
I have a set of Tein Flex around, from my old EK hatch. Next week I'll slap on some EG6 rear LCAs and install those Teins. Not sure how the ride will be, but hell, I have the stuff all here, so why not have a go at it...
But about the Flex: great for heavier street use. I don't think it'll be good enough for track / circuit usage. I dialed out understeer on the EK with them though, which was enormous.

after nixing the tein RE, i've been set on the t1r bmax's now....
given the lack of fun tracks and abundance crappy roads here though, it's no longer a high pri

well my hatch only sees track normally...but i need a car to go work so..the first week of driving is very rough, it bounce to everywhere even from a very small bump or drainage grate. but this is not the point. after a while it seems just normal to me..
I do agree its going to lead me to some chasis damage. honestly, I can already feel fr right allignment is somewhat off for unknown reason. allignment just done for a little more than a month, bushings should be ok as they are all fresh installed 2 months ago. anyways. i should tkae the car to the shop and have them all checked out.

I only know the B6 performs about same to Buddyclub RSD with slightly worse shock absorbing..
and i was struggling in between Super function X and Spoon before..Would like to know as well.

It's taken an interesting turn. I knew Koni/GC would be up there, but the Omnipower showing is a big surprise.

According to the shock dynos, the omni's aren't half bad off a shock(who makes their shock?). Now the rest of the combo is up in the air. Do they even have adjustable omni's?
What happened to Moton???? They would be darn close to the "best"!?!?
