if anyone has ever done this please tell me where to mount the neon tubes under the car. There doesnt appear to be anything to bolt them too. I kno its rice but i like it lol. Anyone help me out?

 

There's nowhere to mount them so that they won't be seen - at least on the sides - and if you want to attach them to the floorpan you have to use self-tapping screws and put holes in your shell.

Is it really worth it to have a gay little pink or blue shadow under your car? Come on man, it's not 1997 anymore. Wake the expletive up.

 

ok i have self taping screws that came with the kit..do you have a diagram or anything to show me where to mount them on the sides?

No, I do not have a diagram. Sorry, sweetheart, but I haven't installed anything like this since 2000, and even then it was on a slammed S10 pickup.

What you'll want to do, though, is center the bars as best you can between the wheel arches on the sides and drill them in there. On the front and rear, try to mount them where the bumper will obscure the bulbs but not the glow. Center them here also. Then you link them all together and bam! Instant rice.

 

lol ok thanks so much..btw this is my first car and it is what i have been dreaming about since about 1997 so it has to be a bit rice lol. Thats about it though..the rest wont be.

 

oh for drilling them do i put them on the stock side skirt or in further from that?

Do not drill them into the side skirt, do it further inboard

 

ok so that will drill it into the floor pan correct? so it will not hit anything i.e fuel lines, brake lines etc?

 

if you go to lowes you can buy L channel in lengths and cut it. if you screw it to the bottom of the car down the sides you can hide the side tubes behind it. i would scuff it and paint it black so it will not be noticable. on the front and back you will probably need to cut the bottoms out of the bumpers so you can mount the tubes and they will shine on the ground. i wish i had pictures of the bottom of a civic i could show you what to cut. ive put more neon kits under civics then i care to think about. looks ok when done properly, kinda played out though.

 

two things...first off if i mount it behind the l metal then wont it block some of the glow preventing it from shining out underneath the car? second does any other person happen to have a diagram of this?

 

it will shine straight down and under the car, trust me its better then seeing a tube.

make sure you don't drive with it on, if it's blue,green,red or white

yea i kno they are blue and illegal but im from ontario canada and here the cops dont usually give us a hard time.
