Help with a freinds fresh motor build: idle, afr's, etc *VIDEO*
we recently got a friends fresh ls/vtec build started but we're having some major problems. it's a stock sleeve lsvtec with forged bottom end, stock b16 head with aftermarket valve train, blox b's, skunk2 intake. nothing out of the ordinary.
the motor starts up just fine, but doesn't idle for nothing. it bounces like crazy around 1500 rpm. the idle screw seems to have little or no effect. the only code we're getting is 14, IACV. we tried an extra idle valve we had laying around with no change. the motor also doesn't act any different with it unplugged. also tried a different map sensor for the hell of it, no change. we found a decent sized vaccum leak around the intake manifold, but didn't notice much of a change if any after tightening some things up
it' also has poor throttle response, even noticable in neutral. timing on the distributor as at 16, but it's difficult to actually check it with the rpms jumping around so much. cam gears are at 0, the exhaust might be at like +1, i dont recall off hand. it might be in my head, but it also seems like the header heats up pretty quick, which makes me think retared timing, but everything lines up physically as far the the pulley/gears go.
he is using an LC-1 wideband scaled down to 3.8volts to use with the honda ecu. it's reading pretty much max lean the entire time which would seem to explain the poor throttle response, but i just don't see the motor running THAT lean. i did see it jump down to like 17:1 when giving it a little gas. neither one of us has used the LC-1 before, and to be honest i dont know if it's working properly or not. we're kinda scared to do anything with the car knowing that it's running as lean as it is, assuming the wideband is working
as far as the ecu goes, it's a chipped p28, and we've tried a few different combinations. nothing seems to run any better. Crome is also pretty much running like ***, not connecting most of the time, etc
here's a quick video of the car starting up:

just about everything that could have gone wrong with this car, HAS gone wrong. both us are just about at our limits. trying to avoid towing it to a shop, but i dont know what else to do. anyone have some advice?

hehe, i'll defnitely watch them aerosol cans
i'm not sure how it'd be off, but i'm back to square one, so i'll check it out. thanks man

UPDATE: looks like we screwed some wiring when we extended a couple connections. the evap sol and IACV got swapped in the process which explains why nothing changed when we unplugged it. we havn't started it yet as the car is in my garage but the owner has the keys.
Thanks to everyone to helped, and a special thanks to Danny_EJ, you nailed it. thanks brotha
