<<<<<< RUNNING ON THE STREETS!! >>>>>>>
Yo guys, how the expletive do i get this 02' RSX type S (bone stock) REALLY going?!? Im relatively new to MANUAL transmission. Been around racing/import scene for quite a while and finally got the oppportunity to buy myself a manual (own the rsx for 2 wks) after taking up my dad's car which was a stupid automatic (owned automatic for 2 yrs). NE how, the other night i parked at taco bell next to a new honda s2000 (bone stock) with my rsxs. later came out n met the guy with honda s2000. we chatted n were down for late night run. SO here we are rolling 40mph. on the third horn beep. we took off. he maniacally took off spinning his tires. in no time he was 3 or 4 car length ahead of me. BOTTOM LINE.... i can race from the stop. maxing out each gears (not sixth gear..its probably gonna go over 130mph lol) YET from the roll how do i race??? PLS help out a brother. So I may help represent RSX community.
TO be honest i just finally found out how to race from a stop but for rollinI DONT Knw ****. LETs say im cruising 40mph down the street in fourth or fifth gear. what do i do from there to get the car going???

go on a contant RPM where V-TEC is and baLance it to be constant with the acceLerator pedaL then when that third horn hits, hit that **** to the fLoor, LoL jw how did u start the nite?
while i strongly suggest you do not street race(especially since you do NOT know your car at all, and are very new to driving manual), the easiest way to race from a roll is to drop down a few gears till u sit right in the power band. Considering you have a bone stock type S, try getting your RPMs to right around 5500. Sit with the RPM's at 5500 for the 3 horn beeps, then floor it!
Thats pretty much all there is to it
In all honesty tho, i wouldn't street race your car. There are too many horror stories about new drivers totally their cars driving like maniacs.

"s2k>dc5 "
That is a matter of opinion. Shure given both cars are stock the s2k will smoke a dc5 anyday provided a good driver: However the s2k has many engine mods, and comes much hotter than a stock dc5. In conclusion I say after a few suspension, and engine mods I would take the dc5 over a 2000 anyday. Just my two cents.

Im not trying to street race BUT Its sooo tempting when evo's, STI n srt4 especially other hondas comes down roaring when spotting my car. its like my car is wearing some kind of sign that said (race me lol ) appearance wise i got bone stock satin silver with flat black OEM wheels i did myself. i dont knw whats drawing racers.
Neways, speaking of DOWNSHIFTING. are we talking about pressing clutch then drop 5 to 4 then clutch again drop 4 to 3? clutch again then drop 3 to 2???

To OrlandoracerRSXR: When downshifting you donot have to hit each gear. As long as the clutch is pressed you are free to stick it anywhere you choose. I wouldnt suggest shifting down too much @ high rpm's, but thats just me. Get the feel for your car, and how its revs cycle, then drive it hard!
yea i would normally place my gears from 6 to 3rd if im rolling from 70mph to race.
0- 40 1st gear
41-60 2nd
61- 80 3rd u get the rest.....
YET some1 said ouch to this??? lol

I see the Level of Sarcasm Is down on this Side of the Forum. I guess you cant express your level of emotions.
*Let me start a putting sarcasm Warnings*
As for Downshifting you'll get the hang of it, Dont do what i mentioned earlier, IT was meant to be sarcastic becuase of your Street Racing issue.
Just go to the nearest Gear if you want to downshift, as for roll Racing, typically 3rd or 4th gear is good for me. But again Keep it on the Track, I cant stress that enough.

Have someone more experienced show you how to drive a stick shift, or better yet take some performance driving courses.
Also, don't race on the street. I won't tolerate such talk in this forum.
