Default How to distinguish OBD by block?

Is there any way to distinguish the OBD of the engine itself? I know on the head by the header there is a stamp saying what year it was made. But other then that stamp, how do you know what OBD your engine is?

lol that didn't help.

I'm pretty sure theres no real way to tell. Except like the certain ones that came out certain years (B18A1, B16A3, etc) Maybe something on the serial number I don't know about?

Obd0 and obd1 alternators have round 4 pin connectors Obd2 has a square for sure and I think 3 pin.

Obd0 dizzy round plugs Obd1 dizzy square plugs not sure on obd2 dizzy

All obd injectors are a little different from each other.

Just by the block? Well I know the obd0 jdm b16 blocks driver side bracket is not the same as an obd1 bracket. Don't ask me how I know. That little ****** cost me about 75.00 by the time I got everything lined up right in my hatch.

Most all other sensors really doesn't matter what year they are from. So it is hard to tell.

If you take the oil pan off there should a number, number, letter on the bottom of the block. like the d16a6 has PM6 under the block inside the oil pan. Not sure if they do this for all blocks.
Like the head has PR3 on the back side of a b16a obd0 engine.

Man I hope any of this helps you. These are just my experiences with hond engines in what I have done. No "I thinks" here.

i just did a swap, maybe bout a month ago... everything is running good, im just curious becuase my engine is a 95, which would mean it should have been obd1 right? I have an obd2a ecu which i would assume my alt, dizzy, and injectors are all obd2a as well... i'm just trying to figure out if the 95 b18c was obd2a or obd1. or if mine was "converted" to obd2a? get me?

obd2's started in 96 so everything 95 and below is obd1 or 0.

Just because it was cast in '95 doesn't necessarily mean it went on a model year 1995 car. Remember that model years typically begin late in the previous calendar year (for example, a 1996 Integra would have been available for purchase in September 1995, so the engine would have been cast and assembled earlier).

Your engine came from a '96 Integra.

^ yeah agreed normally if it was cast in one year it was used in the next year model car. for example a motor cast in 93 would most likely be a 94 year car.

Sounds legit to me... it was just something that i starting thinking about this morning. Now if it was cast in 94 that would be a lil weirder huh? lol, thanks...
