Driver door won't open. Need help!
My 2000 Accord driver door won't open. Manual and power locks operate OK. Inside latch seems to operate a rod and feels normal. Outside handle has no resistance, like rod has come off. Any ideas on how to open the door.
Its hard to remove the inner panel without being able to open the door!

I'm not sure about how to help you but just an FYI, when you need to make a correction to a post of yours, click on "Edit" instead of making a new thread. Also, you can delete your other duplicate thread by going into the thread, clicking on "edit" and then click on "delete".
no, I don't have that kind of authority. I just reported it so that a moderator could delete it. Just figured incase you didn't figure it out or something that a mod could take care of it, no offense.
I played with it a little last night and narrowed down the problem.
The latch mechanism thinks the door is still locked.
Although the power locks operate the tabs (manual push pull things - technical eh!) and the inside lever feels like its operating something, the outside handle is not operating anything.
Last night I locked the passenger side door, and the inside and outside handles feel the same on both doors.
Therefore, the drivers doors won't open becasue its locked, even though all other doors are unlocked and all tabs are up. The key in the door will also operate all lock tabs.
So, I still have to climb across the console.
Time to take the driver door control panel off and see what I can reach with my hand I guess.
Will then try and remove the inner panel with door closed!

"The fix is to replace the defective door latch with a new one. The
problem is getting the defective one off the car. Honda never issued a
TSB on this problem, but many techs in the field perfected a way to
drill into the latch and release it, allowing the door to open. Follow
this procedure.
Remove the inner door panel. This can be tough since the door is
stuck closed. It is usually easier if you unbolt the drivers seat and
slide it to the rear or totally remove it (if you can).
Measure from the center of the "pivot rivet" drop down 1 1/16" and
center punch a hole. The hole should be horizontally about 1/8" from
the embossed stiffening ridge (to the door skin side). See figure 1
for reference.
Drill this hole with a 1/8" drill bit. Stop when the bit goes through
the first layer of metal. Re-drill the hole using a 1/4" drill bit.
After drilling through the first layer, let the drill bit go further
and hit the internal parts of the latch.
Normally the drill bit will hit the right latch part and the latch
will release. If it does not, use a screwdriver through the 1/4" hole
to release the latch. Simply turning and moving a flat screwdriver tip
inside the 1/4" hole will usually release the latch. If all else
fails, drill this hole larger and try again to hit the release. "
Hope this helps!
I have a link that is from back in the good ole days that might help you as far as drilling out the old latch.
