Default TCU LOCATION ON 1991 Accord

Does anyone know where the TCU location for a 1991 Accord LX sedan would be exactly? My car would skip gears and would sometimes not get into gear and read that it would be the TCU.

I have the exact issues as the guy in this thread: http://www.cordclub.com/forums...16313

Any help would be very much appreciated.

If your throwing a check engine light then check the codes. If your not then open up the TCU and look for any burnt out resistors on the mother board. If everything is fine with the mobo and you are not throwing any check engine lights then your next step is to check the shifter cable. make sure it's not jamming up somewhere. After that I would check the shifter soleinods / lock up(sp?)

Our automatic accords are know for there rear quarter panel honda rust, the automatic tcu' mobo burning resisters, the hard upshifts after 80k, the brake light sensor going off (telling you that one of your bulbs are out when they aren't, antenas that don't retract all the way and allow for water to leak in the truck. I mean the list goes on and on... Try some of the trouble shooting ideas i just posted. -- best of luck

Well if the 'S' light doesn't cycle off after the key is turned on it could well be a dead TCU.
You could try to reset the TCU by removing the negative batt cable for 10 seconds then redrive to see if it shifts okay the first time around, but screws up after restarting again.

thanks, i will try those and report on how it went
so far i took out the TCU and when i opened it everything looked fine. I pluged it back in and things started to work again but usually it does that and goes back to its ways the next day. if that happens again tomorrow ill go down the list you provided thanks

BTW: no check engine light
used to have the flashing "S" light but then it went away and unable to shift to correct gear was still there
