Default Torn between K and B...

Ok I have a 95 Del Sol with the D15. Needless to say this thing has to go. I have looked into swap choices and have narrowed it down to two. Ls/vtec or K24...

Honestly I cannot make my mind up. The ls/vtec with built bottom end with stock b16 top end and b16 tranny will cost about the same as the stock k24 with 6 speed tranny will cost. I have heard some miracle things about these motors. Also the fact that it would still be stock means a good engine life, as this is a daily driver. On the other hand I could have a semi built ls/vtec.

What's you guys take on this?

K is superior to the B-series, it is much more evloved engine. Ever wondered why it replaced the b-series? The i-vtec is pretty much the best, and the engine has the best hp per liter among the NA cars. So the K gets my vote.

Well it's not just simply a B or K debate. A semi built ls/vtec or completely stock k (besides kpro). Not to mention it will see a little boost down the line. Which the lower compression K24 is sounding good for that also. I think I just keep seeing the good side of the K24, anyone think of a bad side?

look to all u idiots that say k just cause it is new and exspensive. it will end up costing 10k+ for a k swap. and with that money you could build a ls vtec that would take any k powered vehicle on the road. end of story.

yeah the bad side is hellu exspensive and you could have a 11 second civic for the price of a stock k swap.

little bit more than that lol, but nothing much worse than the ls/vtec. Just have to change the fuel system over.

k24 motor $1000
k20 tranny $1200
Mounts $400
Shift linkage $150
Kpro $500
Fuel system?
Intake manifold/throttle body/fuel rail/injectors?
exhaust manifold?

What else am I leaving out here, I know I am.

or with 10k, you could build a k.. that would eat 98% of ls/vtec's out there

8k-10k is a little much for a k series swap...i think we spent a little over 6k for ours. running like a champ!!!

along with that

- you get a newer engine/more reliable and less km's
- better balanced engined
- CVT
- I-VTEC
- Lighter

and the icing on the cake, they respond killer to simple bolt on's

i seriously doubt that.
turbo + i-vtec = awesome power. for 10k if you bought all the same type of parts (i say type because they are different series so they cant buy the same parts) im betting the k will be faster. end of story.
