will a jdm h22a pass CA SMOG
it all depends really.
you may or may not pass visual, depends how hard the smog tester looks.
if you don't you could always go in and get it bar'ed. then your motor is 100% legal in the state of california. that is if it runs clean, all vacuum lines are intact, all emissions controls are in place and it is unmodified outside the extent of the BAR.
so yeah, it's definitely possible, but if you're throwing older motors into newer cars, forget it, it will never work.

Beauro of Automotive Repair, you go to a referee they inspect your motor/car and make sure that the emmission equipment you have is the same as the USDM motor configuration.. Meaning if you bar your h22a you have to hook up your ERG and other things that the JDM one doesnt have. If it is all in line, you can go to a smog tester and they will be able to test it.
