Default Swap info... and copule of engine que's?

hey, rite well first off i have a b18c out a 97 teg, od2 correct me if am wrong (has knock sensor) plannin on putting it into my 97 uk spec ek, it has a 1.5 v-tec in it at the moment ( i'm guessin thts obd2 aswell?, My main question is wht do i need to get this motor in and running,, mounts,wiring, ecu, everything, , for sum reason the ecu i got with the engine is out a uk spec b18c4, will thie ecu work with the motor i have?(seacrhed but could find all the info i needed) Que 2. i'm still not sure i have a b18c due to the fact the enigne code is grinided off , it has pr3 stamped on the pistons,rods,block and head is this thing really a jdm b18c? <Sorry for all the crap i jst said but this info could really help me out big time, cheers guys, p.s i know its V-TEC! and NOT v-tech

You are right.. you are lookiong at 2 OBD2 cars.. IM not sure on the numbers for the ecu for an obd2 gsr im thinking P73? also with the block numbers grinded off it would be a little difficult .. Pr3 may be a good start also look for P72 numbers. You can tell if its a jdm spec motor by also looking at the wire harness it came off of. if its set up for a right hand drive car and by the valve cover. AS for installation.. If you bought htis motor used id definatly check timing belt/clutch/flywheel/plugs/cap/rotor to start. You will need a mount kit/axels/ecu as well.

No it isnt V-Tec either.......I swear to god. some of you wannabe honda people. IT'S VTEC YOU NOOBS!!! Not V-tec, not V-tek, not v-tech, not VE-TAK, not VTECK......IT'S VTEC!!

ok kool, wht should i look for on the harness certain multiplugs etc?, all i can see is pr3 on no p72. i have axels and gear linkage off the teg , not sure if this would fit onto the ek tho? i should know its vtec, i own 1 , jst whe i sighned up i couldnt get it with vtec, but tbh i dnt the (-) in between the v and the tec makes much diff lol any thanks man

well if the alternator/battery cable comes to the left hand side of the car instead of the right.. im not sure if this will be the case with a UK version but if you think its a jdm gsr that willbe the case.

kool any 1 know about the second question i asked? i'm pretty sure pr3 means its a b18c ?

pr3 is obd0 vtec. so it wont work

thanks acp thts one hella gd write up, yea but it has pr3 pistons,rods, head etc all stamped over it but it is an obd 2 motor
