'89 Civic 4dr 5spd. A/C, Cruise, CRX Dash, DA Seats etc $3000 OBO
<FONT COLOR="red">SOLD!!!!!!!!</FONT>
Hi guys,
It's time for me to move on from the EF world....I've got way too many cars, and I need to sell one to pay for my last semester of college. I was going to build the Ultimate EF with this car, but time, money, and my desire have run out. I've got too many other projects I'd like to see through before this one.
Up for sale is my '89 Civic LX. The car was originally an automatic, and I converted it to a 5 speed (Si transmission). It has a brand new Luk Gold Series clutch, a brand new flywheel from Napa. Engine is the stock d15 with 180,000 miles. Runs great. A/C has recently been serviced by an ASE Master Tech with a rebuilt compressor, new expansion valve, new drier, and a full R12 recharge. No crappy R134a retrofit here. I spent nearly a grand on the a/c alone, and I've got all receipts.
I painstakingly rewired the dashboard to 90/91 style and added OEM cruise control to this car. You will probably not find OEM cruise on any other 88/89 Civic. It was a PITA, but works great and was worth all the headache. I chose an '89 over the 90/91 with factory cruise for the fact that the 88/89's don't have the annoying auto seatbelts.
Mods (in no particular order):
-Lowered with HR springs. ~1.75" drop. Rear camber has been done, front camber kit is brand new in box and will come with the car
-'98 GSR rear disc brake conversion. Have DA knuckles for the front end, but never installed.
- OEM Honda/Enkei black 13" wheels. They are awesome IMO. Not currently on the car because the tires aren't so great on them. The car currently rides on stock 13" wheels, but the Enkei wheels will come with the car.
- DA Integra front lip. Looks good IMO.
- brand new 20% tint on all rear windows, 35% tint on the front windows.
- brand new driver side window motor with regulator installed about a month ago. Have a brand new passenger side window motor and regulator, but haven't installed it yet. Will come with the car. Rear windows both need new motors...windows will barely come up if you put them down.
-CRX dashboard. This was a huge PITA but I love the look. I added cupholders into the dashboard, and they work great. The dashboard is missing the passenger side a/c vent...been too lazy to grab one at a junkyard. Only bad thing is the dashboard is now black, and the rest of the interior is blue. Car will come with 2 sets of grey door panels. I was going to convert to all black, but never really got around to it.
- Currently has stock Civic steering wheel, but will come with DA 3 spoke steering wheel w/cruise control buttons, and also a 3rd gen Prelude 3 spoke steering wheel with cruise control buttons. The prelude wheel has been modified to work with the Civic cruise control system; The DA plugs right in.
-Mint DA front seats with rewelded brackets to fit into the Civic. They are pretty much in mint condition, and are very comfortable.
-Custom fabricated rear headrests to match the DA Integra front seats. I never got around to recovering the fabric, so right now they're tan.
- OEM JDM Civic RT-Si rear spoiler from an EF5. You will not find another Sedan with this spoiler....they are nearly impossible to get a hold of. Will also come with the entire trunk if you buy the car. I opted to mount the spoiler on my stock trunk instead of mounting a black trunk on a blue car. You will get the OEM black trunk also though.
- Car has a trailer hitch which comes in surprisingly handy!!!!!
- OEM JDM window visors. Somebody tried to break into my car and now the passenger front visor is cracked...i glued it back together, but you can still see the crack.
- Custom fiberglass 6.5" kick pods up front. Does not get in the way of the clutch, and the hood release is still accessible. Right now I've only got Bazooka 6.5" speakers in them, and also in the doors. Sounds alright, but is ready for a sweet system.
- Jensen CD 4610 cd player...only a month old, it gets the job done and looks alright in the process.
- I have several uninstalled parts and JDM goodies to sweeten the deal if somebody wants to pay close to my asking price. If not, I'm going to sell the following off: OEM rear fog lights, OEM 4dr EDM side skirts (very hard to find!) 2 OEM bumper poles. I've got a flush mount fiberglass box that mounts into the rear passenger corner of the trunk, a 12" crystal sub, and a brand new Jensen 2 ch. amp. None of it installed yet as I have not had the time. I probably have more stuff laying around. Car will come with all sorts of stock parts like the stock dashboard, gauge clusters, misc interior parts.
Overall, the car is very clean inside and out and aside from some fading paint on the roof, is in great shape. I have the title, and it's clear. Car has A/C, PS, Cruise, Power windows, Power locks, power windows...IMO, the ultimate "EF" and is set up for a pretty good sound system. Price is $3,000 OBO. This car is ready for a swap!!!!!
I'd rather sell this car quickly and not have to wait out to get my price, and as such am open to all offers, but please don't insult me.
email: Jonathan.harrison@gmail.com, AIM= Imapemmican, or PM me here. I've been really busy lately, so please understand that it may take up to a day for me to get back with you.

The difference is going to be the auto seatbelts, and of course the d16a6 engine in the EX. The other difference would be the cruise control system (90-91 only)..but I retrofitted that into this car, so you're not missing anything there. The front bumper is a little bit different near the parking lights. The trim is smooth on the 90-91's instead of having an indention in the middle like the 88-89's. The tail lights are different. The EX will have a factory dual tip muffler (if it's still there). The EX also has a different interior cloth pattern.
The dashboards are also different on the 90/91's...but this car has a 90/91 CRX dashboard, so that point isn't very valid either.
I believe that's pretty much any significant difference. I'll PM you.

Whats wrong with you people.
BUUUMP.. Are those headrests from a DA? And nice trunk lid.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yeah, modified. They don't just pop into place. You gotta cut off the stock mounting bracket, and weld on the Civic mounting bracket.

I hope it goes to a good home
