Check your block for oil, Could be a blown heagasket or..

Make sure your thermostat is operating properly or...

make sure your water pump is working...(has it been changed in the life of the car??)

Do you have a coolant leak? Does the coolant level stay high enough? It's probably your thermostat.

you probably have air bubbles in your system. take off the radiator cap and let the car run. you will notice air bubbles coming up. just keep it on till no air bubbles are present. add coolant as needed
