Did 97 civic hatch ever came with Power Steering?
like the title says. cause i am having extra play wiht the steering wheel sometimes and is erking me out. I dont know becasue i bought this car used it also has a b18 in it. What else could cause extra play in steering wheel? It usually or almost happends when im doing some sort of turning.
Thanks, any feedback would happily appreciated
I came to a conclusion that it could be rack and pinion?? wheel bearings??i almost doubt it cause i had it checked out..any other possibilities? axles are fine

it's not your bearings, they have nothing to do with play at the steering wheel, let alone with turning. your steering rack may be a possibility, but i have to ask, when was the last time you had an alignment?
The last time i had an alignment was 6 months ago. but i recently did a rear disc conversion which has a positive camber. ima wait till i do the front swap thats when i plan on doing the alignment
Yeah some of these hatches did come with power steering. Well as for that extra play in your steering, check ur alignment that might help. Also i dont know if these cars come with an intermideate shaft or not but mustangs do and that causes small play in the steering wheel when turning it...

hmm, thanks for this reply, i will consider the intermideate shaft. i gotta go to the auto x's hangout and let em take my car for a spin and see what they think.
thanks again
